In Which I Write Facinating Content About Nothing At All

I have this idea that one of these days I'm going to have inspiration coming out my ears, that I'll have more to write about than there is paper available. Actually, that won't happen because paper is usually virtual these days and last I checked the internet wasn't running out of space. My point, however, is that I live under some delusion that I actually have something to say. Something relevant and witty, and you know, engaging.

I realize this is a delusion, but humor me.

Read me.

Clearly, I have an excellent grasp of social media and I use it to full advantage.

Sadly, I have come to the conclusion that I know nothing whatsoever about technology, building a website (plug ins, anyone? No thank you, I use spray air fresheners), or graphic design. I do not know all that Photoshop is capable of doing. I do know it's possible to make my header using Photoshop but I haven't a clue how to do it. I do not understand coding or anything remotely having to do with IT. This is not news to my husband and my children, nor is it news to me but I was entertaining the delusion that maybe, just maybe I was just a little more computer savvy than your average piece of Kleenex, but alas! I was continuing the self deception.

I did have a small moment of victory recently, though. My parents set up a new email account and I was able to walk them through adding a new contact. I felt pretty accomplished, let me tell 'ya! Bring on the new side business as a tech support person!

My temporary elation and victory aside, I DO know how to outsource! Haha! Go me! I have enlisted my (tech savvy and extremely handsome) husband to help me.

As if he doesn't have enough to do.

But he's doing it for me because he's a good sport and a great guy like that, and if I can figure out the parts that I need to figure out I'll have a pretty sweet little blog with an attached shop that actually has a shopping cart and PayPal and everything when it's all said and done! That's the whole point of all of this...changing from Blogger to Wordpress and all that.  I'm opening my online store. Finally! Something that's been in the back of my mind for years!  I'll post the link to the new site when it's live.

So in addition to writing fascinating blog content, I am offering my tech support services. I'll be waiting for your calls, but please be patient if I have to put you on hold. I am very busy changing out my air fresheners because while my husband is working on my new website he keeps talking about getting plug ins.

Carmen's 50, 50, 50

via

Doing this over the next few days.

As if I don't have anything else to do.

I'm a firm believer, though, that a good clear out of the house means a good clear out of the head which means more productivity.

I'll keep you posted.

(Click the link and you will know what I'm talking about. It will take you to a great blog written by someone I wish I knew in real life.)

On Blueberry Bagels and Abraham

"Would Abraham have eaten this?"
"I don't know but if you don't, I will."
My daughter is getting married in a couple of months. In the interest of fitting into the size wedding dress of her choice she has decided to tone up and lose a few pounds. This, by the way, is the ONLY thing she is doing that is typically bride-y. She is the most organized, level headed, stress free, un-bridezilla I've ever met. At least long distance from this mother's perspective. Her friends may disagree, but I digress. Not that I've heard anything because I haven't!

To lose those pounds she has set a standard for herself of eating only the food Abraham would eat. This  is a mind set that easily eliminates processed foods and focuses on whole, healthy, fresh foods. Very sensible. I've been trying to adopt this attitude toward my own eating because helloo???? I have a dress to fit into for her wedding that is currently one size too small.

Will I do it? I have seven weeks. Stay tuned to find out. Riveting, I know. Of course, you may prefer to clean your toenails and I completely understand.

Anyway, this morning I was wondering if Abraham would have eaten a blueberry bagel with butter.

Let's follow my train of thought, shall we? Abraham was Jewish, right? Bagels are Kosher. How about butter? Not being Jewish myself, I'm not sure about that. But butter is a derivative of milk and Abraham was OK with milk. Cow's milk? Not sure about that either, but hey, milk is milk. Blueberries are something that for sure he would have eaten. If they could grow them there. Which I doubt, but he would have if he could have. We will conveniently ignore all the other crap ingredients in these particular bagels. So, yes. Yes, I think Abraham would have eaten a blueberry bagel with butter. In fact, I think he would have eaten both halves.

It was delicious.

Of course, that means I've blown most of my calorie requirements for the day and I'm not sure it was worth it in retrospect.

That dress is shaking it's finger at me right this minute.
